Earlier in the day on July 20, 1995, Marty Rye attended a meeting with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) to discuss a draft document entitled "Guidance for Evaluating Urban. Stormwater and Snow Melt Run-off Impacts to Wetland." Rye noted that this document, while not a formal rule, will likely be implemented by other agencies as a rule. Rye noted concern that standards outlined in this draft report may not have received adequate public input. The guidelines outline standards to be applied to newly constructed storm sewer systems that discharge into existing wetlands. The purpose of the guidelines is to protect the existing wetlands from damage caused by new run-off. Rye noted that the adoption of these guidelines may have large impacts on metropolitan communities. The Board directed staffto investigate potential impacts to both Roseville and Shoreview and report the findings to the Board at its next meeting. E.
