-- Water BilllBoard <br />In an effort to develop an effective feedlot rule, <br />the MPCA will be working closely with <br />representatives of the agricultural industry. The <br />MPCA will have an opportunity to solicit advice <br />on a regular basis through participation in the <br />Feedlot and Manure Management Advisory <br />Committee (FMMAC). In preparation for the rule <br />revision, FMMAC has established several task <br />forces to research and provide technical advice <br />to the. The meeting includes presentations on <br />the commission's history, on 4he St. Lawrence <br />River, and on case studies in water use and <br />management. For further information, contact <br />Rita Straith at 313-665-9135. <br />The 1995 Biennial Meeting on Great Lakes <br />ater Quality will be held in Duluth/Superior <br />from September 22-25, 1995. The purpose of <br />the meeting is to review progress made by the <br />U.S. and Canada in meeting the intent of the <br />Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. The <br />four-day meeting will include workshops, <br />roundtables, speeches and tours of the region. <br />In addition, there will be a public hearing at which <br />the public is invited to speak on Great Lakes <br />issues. The biennial meeting will also include a <br />Remedial Action Plan (RAP) forum where <br />members of the 42 RAPs on the Great Lakes <br />can get together to discuss successes and <br />problems encountered in their RAPs.
