The conference, <br />• sponsored by the South-Central <br />Minnesota County Comprehensive <br />-Water Planning Project and the . <br />Board of Water and Soil Resources, <br />opened with remarks from Jane <br />Starz (Brown County water plan- <br />ningcoordinator and conference <br />chair), Char Kaler (Martin County <br />commissioner), Doug Thomas•(state <br />water planning coordinator), Ron <br />Harnack (director of the Board of <br />Water and Soil Resources) and' <br />State Senator Steven Morse. . <br />Senator Morse was awarded the <br />"Friend of Water Planning" award <br />for his long-term dedication to <br />Minnesota's environment and his <br />support of county comprehensive <br />water planning.
