C Staff en National lc~nte~r oi~ori Conference The National Volunteer Monitoring Confer- ence was held in Madison Wisconsin August 4-7. The purpose of this conference was to promote watershed stewardship. It was attended. by groups and individuals from the national level to the citizen level. The conference offered the HCD an opportu- nity to network with other organizations and learn what is being done to support volunteer monitoring around the country. -HCD staff came back with information that can be incorporated into our exist- ing program to make it more effective and to allow us to expand with fewer growing pains. .Carolyn Dindorf, District Limnologist repre- sented HCD with an Aquascaping display. _ The display included photos and text describing the benefits of maintaining oriestoring waterfront prop-, erty to a more natural state.
