Par~taer Updates <br />Lyndon The Watershed Partner descriptive brochure has been completed 2500 have been printed for the rack <br />of take-away items in the Shcd cxllibit. <br />Cliff Twin Cities Water Quality Initiative applications aze now available from the Met Council. The <br />deadline for application is May 30th. There arc also other grant sources available for SW projects. <br />Amy Amy is looking far a metro area map which has streams and shorelines within the Twin Cities and <br />Dan Tltc President's Heritage Commission is sceldng applicants for a nationwide program focusing on lU <br />critical rivers which !lave cross jurisdictional strategies for improvement and environmental protection. River <br />reaches selected far the program. will receive a visit from either President Clinton or Vice President Gorc. The <br />program's goal is reinventing government to the nest step. Participants will rncet with federal agencies who will <br />assist them in i>inplcmcnling improvements. The Commission will follow up on progress. CBE's Friends of <br />Swede Hollow group is hosting an evening program in conjunction with the Minnesota Project. <br />Lyndon A training workshop will be held 10/27-11/07 in Lancaster, PA which will focus on circling watershed <br />based partnerships. The Minneapolis Water Quality Education Advisory Commiuec has arranged that all future printnbs <br />of the signs will have a rncssage "Keeping Leaves Out of the Street Keeps Our Lakes and Rivers Healthy" printed <br />in the sign mazgitts in blue ink. <br />Amy Jo On June 7th Wendy Lane will have an art. exhibit, there will be a slide show, and Burger Drotltcrs will <br />give a canoe demonstration at the Minnesota Valley Refuge Center.
