Jim will report next month on the U of VI's Land development discussions <br />for U of i/i's Dakota County holdings. <br />Chair Roer congratulated Rod Sando on his chairmanship of EQB. <br />Rod Sando, commissioner, Department of Natural Resources, reported on the Mille Lacs treaty; <br />this does need to be appealed to the Supreme Court to bring this issue final closure, as the <br />decision was just announced, he will report on details in September. Rod distributed DNR's <br />strategic plan for members information. DNR is involved with the implementation ofCRP; <br />contact tiV avne Edgerton with comments on this program. Div~Z has had a busy season with state <br />parrs; tourism has been down in the north; state trails are very popular with. rolierbladers; Waters <br />Division has been very busy with the flood disaster; Forestry is involved in the timber harvest; <br />law enforcement will be more mobile. Rod is happy to be here. <br />Consent agenda <br />l~lahnomen Countr• Comprehensive Local Water Plan -Tim Hvidsten reported that the <br />northern review commiree met on August 26 to review the i/Iahnomea County Comprehensive <br />Local Water Plan and recommends approval of this plan. <br />South Washin;ton Watershed District tiVatershed itilana;ement Plan -Barb Cobb reported <br />that the micro committee recommends a~oroval. <br />Upper Rum River 1v1~I0 Watershed itilanagement Plan -Barb Cobb reoored that the metro <br />commiree recommends approval of the plan. <br />Moved by Tim Hvidsten, seconded by Ginny Imholte, to approve the itilahomen County <br />-60 Comprehensive Local Water Plan; the South Washington Watershed District tiVatershed <br />Management Plan; and the upper Rum River ti~"tiI0 Watershed ~Ianagemeat Plan. Motion <br />passed on a voice vote. <br />Chair Roer called for a brea'_ti in the meeting ac 9:~0 a.m. The meeting reconvened at 10:10 a.m. <br />Old Business <br />BWSR Draft Strategic Plan -Jim Birkholz distributed an addendum to the draft strategic plan, <br />a brief paragraph regarding rechnolosy, replacing page 1?. Jim stated that continents on the draft <br />are welcomed. The draft strategic plan is scheduled for decision at the September Bti~rSR <br />
