JOINT POWERS BO (JPB) SOLUTION <br />ALLOWING A JPB TO ACCEPT CIIALLENGE G NT E S <br />WHEREAS, the counties listed on Exhibit A have a state approved and locally adopted comprehensive <br />local water plan as defined by Minnesota Statutes § 103B.3361, Subd. 3, and have implemented a local <br />water planning levy; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commissioners listed on Exhibit A are the duly appointed representative for their <br />respective counties and are authorized to act on behalf of their county on the <br />Joint Powers Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, through its Board of Water and Soil Resources and Pollution <br />Control Agency, has made state grant funds available to counties for the accelerated implementation of <br />comprehensive local water plans, if a county agrees to provide matching funds or in-kind goods and <br />services; and <br />WHEREAS, each of the counties listed on Exhibit A has passed a resolution authorizing the county to <br />apply for a challenge grant and agree to match the requisite amount of grant funding; and <br />WHEREAS, said counties have entered in to a Joint Powers Agreement pursuant to Minnesota Statutes <br />§ 471.59, and hereby grant the Joint Powers Board the authority to receive grant funding from the State <br />of Minnesota. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; <br />THAT THE Joint powers board agrees to accept grant <br />funding on behalf of the counties listed on Exhibit A, and to use said funds in a manner consistent with <br />the counties' comprehensive local water plans, as well as Minnesota Statutes § 103B.3369 and Minnesota <br />Rules Chapter 8405. <br />Note! A copy of this JPB resolution, Exhibit A and copies of all individual county resolutions must be <br />attached to the Challenge Grant application. <br />10 <br />
