Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />Kerry Netzke commended Ron Harnack for his efforts on Lazarus Creek and his work <br />during the legislative session. <br />BWSR's 1999 Environmenta[ Initiative Award -Ron Struss announced that BWSR, <br />as a Watershed Partner, received the 1999 Environmental Initiative Award from the <br />Minnesota Environmental Initiative. <br />Recognition of Metro Media llVaterShed Partners Campaign -Jim Haertel presented <br />the advertising campaign "Think Clean Water" which is on grocery bags at Cub Foods <br />and "Keep Leaves and Grass Clippings off Streets and Driveways" has been broadcast <br />on radio spots, and in newspaper ads. Jim Birkholz commended Jim Haertel and Ron <br />Struss for their great efforts on this advertizing campaign. <br />Advisory Comments <br />-Tim Gieseke, MACDE, board members to attend the MACDE summer session, June <br />29-30-July 1, at the Radisson Arrowwood, in Alexandria. Tim announced that Dennis <br />Fuchs, Stearns SWGD, has been appointed as the NACD MACDE North Central <br />Region- representative. <br />-LeAnn Buck, MASWCD, introduced Sheila Vanney, training coordinator. LeAnn <br />reported that it was a good legislative session; increases in feedlots, LCMR, cost-share <br />and general services funding. MASWCD is looking forward to discussing with BWSR <br />how SWCDs and BWSR can do watershed planning without joint powers? Owen <br />Knutson complimented LeAnn for her work during the legislative session. <br />-Franklin Denn, MAT, stated that townships are concerned about the Minnesota <br />Municipal Board sun setting in July, with responsibilities going to Minnesota Planning. <br />Jim Birkholz stated that BWSR appreciates the opportunity to work with MAT on their <br />workshops. <br />-Susan Scribner, MAWD president, and Ray Bohn, executive director invited everyone <br />to attend the MAWD summer tour, June 24-26, in Bloomington, hosted by the Riley <br />Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District. Ray thanked Ron Harnack for his work on <br />Lazarus Creek and other legislative issues. Ray reported that Sauk River Watershed <br />District and North Fork Crow River Watershed District got their levy. Ray <br />complemented BWSR on their Webpage. <br />-Bill Stokes, NRCS, reported that MRCS is continuing work on the Snake River <br />Watershed project in Marshall, Pennington and Polk Counties. NRCS has responded to <br />USEPA comments and are waiting for their response. NRCS is aiso working closely <br />
