There are at least three formally organized watershed-based nonprofit <br />organizations active in the state. As with all nonprofits, these watershed nonprofits <br />have incorporated as (or are under the auspices of) private 501(c)(3) organizations <br />defined by federal tax laws and registered in the State Attorney General's office. These <br />organizations are extremely diverse in their scope of work and in their structure.
