The House Environment Policy Committee is the key legislative policy committee for watershed district legislative issues. Rep. Ozment was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1984 and serves Southern Dakota County (RosemountlFarmington) and Northwest Goodhue County (Cannon Falls). In addition to serving as chair of the Environment Policy Committee, Ozment also serves on the Environ- ment Finance Committee, Commerce Policy Committee and its Regulated Industries Subcommittee, and the Rules and Legislative Administration Committee. ,-' ~~~ '- ~~ ~~ e..~.< r-~s:. 4' ~ _. `- .. ~~~ ,'' ~ .; /~ I Representative Dennis Ozment, chair of the House Environment Policy Committee and Assistant 14'tajority Leader of the House Ozment is the immediate past chair of the Legislative Commission on Minne- sota Resources (LCMR), co-chair of the Legislative Coordinating Commis- sion joint Claims Subcommittee, serves on the Electric Energy Task Force and is co-chair of the Electric Energy Task Force Tax Subcommittee, and is a member of the Legislative Commission on Corporate Subsidies. 1 r Registration Information Inside After twenty-seven years of service, Ozment retired as a fire captain in the Minneapolis Fire Department. Ozment resides in his boyhood home in Rosemount, MN. MAWD is sponsoring Minnesota Drainage Law &Procedure, apre-Annual Meeting drainage seminar scheduled from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2nd. This date also coincides with the start of the MAWD Annual Meeting & Trade Show. Both are separate events and require separate registra- tion. We have scheduled the drainage seminar in this time frame to allow managers and staff who may also be attending the Annual Meeting to take advantage of this full day drainage seminar. By piggy-backing on the Annual Meeting, those who would like to attend a drainage seminar can do so at this time, instead of making a separate commitment. This one day seminar is designed to provide drainage authorities and their key partners with a solid foundation in drainage law and procedure. Kurt Deter, partner with the Rinke-Noonan Law Firm in St. Cloud, MN, will be the seminar presenter. His practice concentrates on water-related issues, including drainage and wetland issues.
