Barr Engineering Company
emorau
4700 West 77th Street • Minneapolis, MN 55435-4803
Phone: 612-832-2600 • Fax: 612-832-2601
Minneapolis, MN • Hibbing, MN • Duluth, MN • Ann Arbor, MI • Jefferson City, MO
To: Grass Lake Water Management Organization Board
From: Karen Chandler
Subject: GLWMO Watershed Management Plan Schedule
Date: November 15, 1999
At the October 28, 1999 GLWMO Board meeting, the Board directed Barr to propose a series of meeting
dates and milestones for completion of the plan. The following table is based upon the assumption that we
submit the preliminary review draft of the plan to BWSR by June 30, 2000. BWSR's schedule for plan
submittal shows a June 2000 date for Grass Lake WMO. Although BWSR will grant extensions, I
recommend that we do what we can to meet the deadline, since extending the process will likely result in
GLWMO incurring additional costs. To meet this schedule means the Board will need to be willing to meet at
least once a month and in some cases as often as every two weeks. It also means that we will need to have the
preliminary review draft of the plan completed by about March 1, 2000. The preliminary review draft is the
first draft of the full plan that is sent out to all the reviewers for formal review.
The schedule shown in the following table assumes that our next meeting will be January 6, 2000; we will. not
meet in December. For the meetings that are two weeks apart, we will distribute at the meeting the materials
for discussion at the following meeting. For meetings that are a month or more apart, we will mail materials
one or (preferably) two weeks in advance.
schedule memo Page 1 11!15/99
