<br />Join other shoreland property owners for a day of learning
<br />how to reduce lawn maintenance while improving fish and
<br />wildlife habitat on your property. Minnesota's top shoreland
<br />managers, educators and landscape professionals have
<br />collaboratively designed and will deliver this series of
<br />fifteen one-day workshop sessions.
<br />Workshops build on the popular book "Lakeseaping
<br />for Wildlife and Water Quality" authored by Carrol
<br />Henderson, DNR Nongame Wildlife Program supervisor,
<br />Carolyn Dindorf, award-winning soil and water
<br />conservationist from the Hennepin Conservation District,
<br />and Fred Rozumalski, highly acclaimed landscape
<br />architect and ecologist.

<br />Field Sessions in small group rotations
<br />that provide hands-on study of:
<br />® Site design: site inventory, characterizing
<br />site and conceptualizing plans
<br />® Site preparation techniques, planting tips,
<br />and project management
<br />® Native plant communities, fish and wildlife
<br />habitat, risk of invasive/exotic species
<br />® Water quality assessment, good stewardship
<br />practices, permit requirements.
<br />Return to workshop facility, refreshment break and exhibits
<br />Results of visual preference survey-discussion.

<br />action. Complete workshop evaluations.
