BWSR Meeting Minutes <br />June 29, 2000 <br />Page Six <br />New Business <br />FY01 SWCD Grant Allocations -Wayne Zellmer presented the allocations and briefly <br />summarized each program. A) Regular Statewide Cost-Share Base Grants <br />($1,899,188); B) Specia! Projects ($400,000); C) Special Minnesota River Basin <br />Grants ($571,000); D) Feedlot Water Quality Management Grant ($1,348,558); <br />** E) General Services ($1,984,764}; F) RIM Reserve Service Grant ($748,738). Moved <br />00-52 by Allan Oehlke, seconded by Dwain Otte, to adopt the recommendations for allocation <br />of our six grant programs as set forth in the proposal from staff. Discussion followed. <br />Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />Area II Minnesota River Basin Projects, FY01 Work Plan -Tabor Hoek and Kerry <br />** Netzke presented the work plan. Staff recommends approval of the work plan. Moved <br />00-53 by Char Kahler, seconded by Mark Dittrich, to approve the FY01 work plan for Area II. <br />Motion passed on a voice vote. <br />Advisory Comments <br />Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT) -Johnnie Larson thanked BWSR for <br />inviting MAT to attend the BWSR meeting. He would like to see township officers on <br />the BWSR. <br />Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD} -Richard <br />Zupp, Vice President of MASWCD, stated that the MASWCD lobbied for the CREP <br />program. Richard reported that MASWCD representatives will attend legislative <br />leadership training in Washington, D.C. in September. Richard stated that MASWCD <br />continues to work with BWSR staff and committees on the resolution process. <br />Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts (MAWD) - tinny Imholte reported that <br />the MAWD summer tour was held last week in the Pelican River Watershed District in <br />Detroit Lakes; excellent attendance, tinny stated that the new managers orientation <br />was held on June 22. <br />Upcoming Meetings <br />^ Minnesota River Basin Joint Powers Board Conference, July 12-13 in Chaska. <br />Ron Harnack stated that the CREP initiative recognition will be held on the <br />evening of July 12. <br />^ Local Water Planners Conference, July 17-19, in Bemidji. <br />^ Next BWSR meeting, July 26 in St. Paul <br />^ BWSR Retreat, August 23, Riverwood Conference Center, Monticello. Ron <br />Harnack asked board members to submit retreat ideas to Mary Jo Anderson. <br />
