CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by President Lake at 6:30 p.m. <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Motion: Moved by Jack Frost, seconded by Paul Ellefson, to approve the minutes of July 11, 2001. The <br />motion carried. <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />No changes were made to the age„da as presented. <br />4. PE T APPLICATIONS <br />Permit 01-32: De1Ro11 Estates -White Bear Lake <br />Motion: Bob Johnson moved, seconded by Jack Frost, to approve Permit #O1-32. Motion carried. <br />Permit 01-33; Walgreen's -Maplewood <br />Motion: Jack Frost moved, Paul Ellefson seconded, to approve Permit #01-33. Motion carried. <br />5. PRESENTATION ON REED CANARY GRASS CONTROL RESEARCH AT THE <br />NORTH ST. PAUL URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER -CABBIE REINHARDT <br />Carrie Reinhardt made a presentation on the reed canary grass research project. She has been working <br />with Sue Galatowitsch at the U of M Department of Horticulture Science. Since 1999, the North St. <br />Paul Urban Ecology Center has been used as an experimental site to develop BMPs for reed canary <br />grass control in wetland restoration sites. An interagency partnership was formed in May 1999, with <br />research funding provided by the District, as well as the University of Minnesota, MnDNR, and <br />MnDOT. She found a great deal of interest in the research results after conducting a phone survey of <br />land managers throughout the northern midwest United States.
