The City of Worthington pumps more than 90% of <br />its 3 million gallon per day residential and industrial <br />water supply from the shallow sand and gravel aquifer <br />located under the north end of Lake Bella. Tests show <br />that water flowing into the lake may reach the aquifer <br />in less than 48 hours. <br />A 180 acre property located in Jackson County has <br />recenfly been restored to native prairie and wetlands. <br />This retired farmland owned by Dale & Sue Aden of <br />rural Okabena includes abundant restored wetland <br />basins, extensive wildlife tree plants with 17 different <br />varieties of coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs, <br />and wildlife food plots. The native prairie upland areas <br />include numerous grass and forb species.
