My friends and I are very excited for summer. It's our favorite time of the year. We do have one problem that you could maybe help us with. We don't like it when a lot of leaves and grass clippings get into our water. Do you think you can help us make sure that these things stay out of our home? I bet you can. At the bottom they start to decay. When this happens a lot of nutrients are released into the water. These nutrients make the algae grow too fast. The algae is what turns the lakes green in the summer. When that happens the algae use too much oxygen and the fish don't get enough so they can't breath. Sometimes they even die. Clean water is important for you, too. Not only do you need clean water to drink, but to swim in also.
