He <br />. <br /> _ <br />passed away on February 20, 2003, in <br /> <br />Ice-Out on Lake Minnetonka <br />~ 3 peace at the age of 87, after a long and <br />• most meaningful life. <br /> Dan's life was filled with love for his <br />'Water Quality and Property ` ~ family and interests in the environment, <br />Values ....::.......:..... . . ..5 ~' conservation, and freshwater resources. <br /> ' He was able to interweave these many <br /> loves with an astounding medical prac- <br />Upcoming Events 5 <br />._ ~_. _ __ <br />tice. Dari s calm demeanor, patient man- <br />Freshwater Message - `=7 <br />ner, and astute medical knowledge <br />made him a favorite physician to those <br />who relied upon him for solace and ad- <br />vice. <br />Born in Moorhead, Minnesota on <br />September 5, 1915, Dan lived his forma- <br />tive years in northwestern Minnesota. <br />He attended St_ John's University in St. <br />Dr. Daniel Moos Continued on page 3 <br />c <br />Association in updating the existing Lake <br />Ecology curriculum for high school <br />students. A grant was awarded to the <br />Cannon River Partnership to partially <br />fund aone-week river ecology program <br />for elementary age students from the <br />Red Wing area on the Mississippi Belle, <br />a paddle-wheel riverboat operated by <br />the Audubon Society. Funding has also <br />been presented to the Wolf Ridge <br />Environmental Learning Center toward <br />the cost to prepare and test a curriculum <br />for climatology and weather using the <br />Minnesota Weatherguide Calendar as a <br />resource. <br />• S <br />Dr. Daniel Moos <br />
