Newly elected MAWD Board' members Water quality data on MPCA website The 2004 Legislative Session came to a merciful end early Sunday morning, May 16th, when the Senate and House adjourned for the session without passing any of the major bills on their agenda. The Senate DFL Caucus flexed its muscles and has sent a strong message to the gover- nor and House that they cannot be rolled twice! The bitterness from last year's bud- get negotiations were still lingering on the Senate side, and it was clear that new Senate Majority Leader Sen. Dean Johnson's job was to make sure that that end game didn't happen again, and to reestablish their authority in the decision making process. Unfortunately, the rest of us got caught up in all of the maneuvering that took place the past five months. Suffice it to say that not many got much of what they wanted out of the legislative session this year. It is unknown if the governor will call a special session. Conventional wisdom would say that the governor needs to call them back to St. Paul to finish their work or he will end up with a big "0" on his legislative scorecard.
