The bitterness from last year's bud- <br />get negotiations were still lingering on the <br />Senate side, and it was clear that new Senate <br />Majority Leader Sen. Dean Johnson's job <br />was to make sure that that end game didn't <br />happen again, and to reestablish their <br />authority in the decision making process. <br />Unfortunately, the rest of us got caught up <br />in all of the maneuvering that took place <br />the past five months. Suffice it to say that <br />not many got much of what they wanted <br />out of the legislative session this year. <br />It is unknown if the governor will call a <br />special session. Conventional wisdom <br />would say that the governor needs to call <br />them back to St. Paul to finish their work <br />or he will end up with a big "0" on his <br />legislative scorecard. <br />MAWD Legislative Update <br />continued on page 4 <br />~~ <br />~~ <br />~~ <br />~jj <br />1 <br />Sen.
