GLWMO Meeting October 23, 2003 Page 2 B-2 The Board discussed the following correspondence sent by the GLWMO since the August 14, 2003 meeting: 1. Roseville Mayor & City Council Members, August 15, 2003, by GLWMO Board Member Landwehr, Leaf Compost Site in Roseville. 2. Article to appear in Shoreview's ShoReview, Fall/Winter 2003 issue. It was suggested that a web link be provided in the article with possibly further description of information available on the GLWMO website. Future (seasonal) ShoReview articles could appear with the same basic GLWMO "jacket" with text changing as necessary. C. Bills C-1 Bills to be considered for payment None were presented for consideration. D. Other Business D-1 NEW Table 6-1/2004 Budget There was discussion regarding the need to update Table 6-1 from the Plan, and the desire to use and continuously update. it and use it to structure future meetings. The was extended, generalized discussion about the limitations of relying on existing technical staff for new initiatives, and the potential roles of consultants vs. staff vs. volunteers. The concept of sharing apart-time administrative or technical employee with another District or WMO was discussed. It was suggested that a financial statement should be presented. and fund balances discussed at future meetings. Other items discussed included assignments for board members prior to next meeting, including contacting other WMO's regarding co-op positions or sharing administrative services, outside assistance for data collection and the web site and a meeting possibly with Stephanie McNamara of VLWMO. It was decided that GLWMO would hold a special meeting at 4:OOpm on Wednesday, November 19, 2003, to further discuss these items. Soderbeck moved approval of the proposed 2004 GLWMO Budget, as adjusted, for the amount of $70,000, equally split between the Cities of Roseville and Shoreview, Brasch seconded. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0.
