<br />Board of <br />.S SSt t°S <br />Presented By <br />Attention: <br />Commissioner Bennett Date October 4, 2005 No. 2005-355 <br />RAMSEY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />YEA NAY OTHER <br />Tony Bennett <br />Toni Carter <br />Jim McDonough <br />Rafael Ortega <br />Jan Parker <br />Victoria Reinhardt <br />Janice Rettman <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Budgeting and Accounting <br />Ken Haider, Public Works <br />WHEREAS, At the request of Ramsey County, Grass Lake Water Management <br />Organization convened a series of meetings of potential project partners to evaluate the <br />need and impact of restoring the historic West Vadnais Lake outlet flow path to Lake <br />Gervais; and <br />WHEREAS, The project partners determined that a new West Vadnais Lake <br />outlet is needed to provide stable, low flow outlet for water derived from Grass Lake <br />Water Management Organization and the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management <br />Organization and f{owing into the Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District, and to <br />protect the interests of the County and Board of Water Commissioners of the City of <br />Saint Paul with regard to high water levels on Vadnais Lake; and <br />WHEREAS, The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) in <br />cooperation with the Ramsey County Public Works Department and the cities of Little <br />Canada and Vadnais Heights, has developed plans for the construction upon, along <br />and adjacent to Trunk Highway No. 35E from 100 feet north of Trunk Highway No. 36 to <br />900 feet north of County Road E, (S.P. 6280-304, S.A.P. 62-649-11 CTB, S.A.P. 62- <br />658-11, S.A.P. 200-010-02, Fed. prof. IM 0354} which incorporate construction plans for <br />an outlet from West Vadnais Lake; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has prepared cooperative agreement PW 2004-06 <br />with the Grass Lake Water Management Organization, Ramsey Washington Metro <br />Watershed District and Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul. The <br />agreement addresses cost participation and maintenance responsibilities based on <br />benefit to the parties for the outlet; Now, Therefore, Be It <br />RESOLVED, The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approves <br />cooperative agreement PW 2004-06 with the Grass Lake Water Management <br />Organization, Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District. and Board of Water <br />Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul; and Be it Further <br />Victoria A.
