City of Shoreview July 29, 2005
4600 North Victoria Street
Shoreview, MN 55126
Attn.: Mr. Mark J. Maloney, City Engineer
Dear Mark:
Thank you for inviting me to attend the Grass Lake Water
Management Organization meeting on July 28, to present the concerns
of Lake Emily homeowners regarding the effluent from Lake Judy. I
found the group to be most knowledgeable and cooperative.
This letter is to petition the City of Shoreview to install a grid chamber
between Lake Judy and Lake Emily. This installation should have the
capability to trap sediment/submerged debris, as well as skimming the
surface for floating weeds, etc. Such an installation would be consistent
with the city's plan for surface water control and with published Best
Management Practices.
The sewer line which moves water as well as debris, algae, weeds, etc.
from Lake Judy, picks up several sewer laterals en route to Lake Emily.
As such, Lake Emily is also the recipient of street run-off with its
associated contaminants.
Please advise if this petition will be honored and in what time period.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
William F. Iacoe
President,
Lake Emily Homeowners Association
(See attached list of OA members)
