Her drawing shows <br />the hands of an elderly couple <br />holding a fish and water. <br />Karlee Shwcrtman ~~'as thi' <br />second place winner who <br />received an award of 57000. Sheryl Corrigan, <br />Commissioner of the Mirulesota <br />Polhtion Control Agency, <br />presented iilforrnation on the <br />State of Mimlesota's newly <br />formed Clears Water Cabinet. <br />The Cabinet consists of <br />comnussioners from the <br />Pollution Control Agency, <br />Department of Natural <br />Resources, Department of <br />Agriculture, Department of <br />Health, and the executive <br />director of the Board of Water <br />and Soil Resources. The Cabinet <br />will foster common sahttions to <br />the tmique dean water <br />challenges cads agency faces. <br />Part of their vision for clean <br />water also includes a "watershed <br />approach," which recognizes the <br />unique and diverse challenges <br />from one part of the state to the <br />next. By bringing together local <br />partners and focusing federal <br />v~zd state resources, ~ulidue <br />dlallenges will be addressed. <br />Conunissioner Corrigan stressed <br />the ilnporteulce of Future <br />generations becoming irlvalved <br />with our most valuable natural <br />resource. <br />- FACETS July 2005 <br />
