28. I am off the lake on the northside with access. I am most concerned with the amount of
vegetation on the south end of Lake Wabasso
29. weeds interfere with lake enjoyment. when the county sprays and all the dead weeds set
on the shore; what is the DNRs stocking program?; Limit the number of boats on the lake;
concern about gas and oil from boating...should be a limit
30. die off of crappie last August
31. we own the home but rent it out.. we reside at 55063
32. just way too many white water lilies; many small panfish suddenly died last year (2006)
33. I don't fish Lake Owasso as I am afraid of Mercury and other contaminants
34. Some of the questions provide "automatic answers". This may create a bias in the
results.
Comments by Non-residents:
1. We believe that the lakeshore owners weed eradication is destroying natural weed beds.
Lakeshore owners have fertilized lawns too close to the shore. A lake wide shore resortation
is much needed and residents don't seem to realize damage they cause. Do they care? With
the continued building, it seems more regulation is mandatory to SAVE this small lake! Is it
too late? The lake front owners have to grasp this dire need for change. THANK. YOU!
2. The lake is SO dirty, it is impossible to swim in. (At least on the west side of the lake.) I
grew up swimming in this lake, and it has gotten rediculously dirty and muddy.
3. We spend our time on Lake Wabasso. That lake is suffering greatly.. The bay on teh SW is
algaed and filling in. I am not in a position to comment on Lake Owasso.
4. there should be no motor boats or vehicles on the frozen lake
5. water is very green.
6. Within the last two years, I develop an itchy rash after being in the water. I have been
useing the lake weekly Bice about 1989 and have never had this issue before. Now I have to
stay on the boat and never get in the water.
7. we're concerned about how the water in the bay (just south of the train bridge) is filling
in. it sued to be water...now it is almost all plants.
8. Like to know how to volunter to check water quality at Lake Owasso (have a Master's
degree in microbiology and experimentation...long time ago!)
9. more homes being built/rebuilt around lake
10. It seems that as people on Owasso have developed larger homes and fertilized their
lawns, the lake quality has deteriorated.
11. I live on a pond connected to Lake Owasso and there is purple loostrife in it
