GRASS LAKE WATER MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION
AGENDA ITEM
Date: 10/25/07. Prepared by: Mark Maloney Item: D-1
Other Business
Item Description: Request for Program Participation & Support
The stormwater education program, "Minnesota Water -Let's Keep It Clean" is seeking continued
support for .2008. Attached are some examples of; the printed materials produced through this program in
the past. In addition, the program has been responsible for prime time local radio and cable TV ads
highlighting grass clippings and storm water quality. GLWMO has used .some of their printed materials in
.the pastas part of its own education and outreach efforts.
This program has proven to be quite effective for storm water quality education in the Twin Cities.. It is
difficult for smaller local governments and Water Management Organizations to generate this type. of
material cost-effectively and this. program represents an opportunity to leverage professionally prepared
materials. The Board should consider participating directly in this program; a $2,000 commitment for
2008 would appear to be worth discussing.
