GLWMO MINUTES
JANUARY 24, 2008
PAGE 12
another existing program and be eligible for double cost-share. Johnson stated that only
happens with lakeshore properties because of the big cost of restoring shoreline.
Shoreline restoration can receive up to $1,000 through this program.
Aichinger stated that the Board can set reimbursement limits by category. At $1,000 for
shoreline restoration, that is 10 projects per year. Johnson stated that last year seven
applications for shoreline restoration were received from the GLWMO District. A couple
of those were completed.
Schwartz requested that Johnson present a report to the Board by the end of the year on
projects for 2008, in time for setting the budget for 2009.
Eckman volunteered to work with Johnson on a revised brochure indicating that only
water quality projects are eligible for this program. The brochure would be available for
the announcement at the upcoming water quality forum on February 12. A draft will be
emailed to all Board members for approval. Maloney agreed to print the brochure as an
in-kind donation.
Johnson will also work on a flyer and the application. Both will also be sent to Board
members electronically for feedback. Stark requested that when finalized, these be
placed on the website.
It was the consensus of the Board for the next meeting to be held on Thursday, February
28, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. That meeting will focus further on the draft report from Barr and
discuss a response to their letter on how to modify the work scope to collect additional
monitoring data.
The meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
