Fees are $3.01 per 1,000 gallons.
6) Outside City-Master Meter Main-
tenance-Distributors have Denver water
maintain the water system.
7) Outside Combined Services-Denver
Water contracts specific amounts of treated
or raw water at a fixed fee: $3.19 per 1,000
gallons.
8) Raw and recycled water-under
contracts, inside and outside of City. Raw
water fees range from $0.47 to $0.85 per
1,000 gallons.
Natiomvide, suppliers of treated and
untreated water for residential, industrial,
agricultural and other uses are well-versed in
charging for the delivery of water, but almost
without exception there is no value-added
for the water itself. It seems only logical this
must change. Metering and charging for
original water before its use is one option.
~ - _
__
r ~ i ~,`J ~ ~~ C~
~~
The Freshwater Society's website-www.freshwaterorg-has
been redesigned, and we are offering more and better web
content.
Click on What's New for a new, more-comprehensive digest of
the best regional, national and international articles about water,
water pollution, conservation, invasive species and other topics.
If you haven't read the digest lately, you may have missed ar-
ticles on:the pollution of Ireland's rivers, Congressional inaction
on an invasive species bill, new Texas laws on lawn sprinklers,
an Oregon lawsuit seeking higher river flows to benefit salmon,
and a fight in Maryland over the threat chicken manure poses to
water quality.
Take a look at what we have to offer.
HELP US SAVE PAPER AND PO57'AGE
Would you prefer to receive your Facets
newsletter electronically, rather than by mail?
If so, email us at freshwater@freshwater:org
Freshwater is a scarce and vital resource that is in increasing
demand.
