Wells are named MW-1, MW-2, and
MW-4. MW-3 serves as a piezometer and is only used for water level monitoring; not for water quality
sampling. Soil boring logs and Minnesota Department of Health well records are attached. As you know,
these wells were installed by the City of Shoreview to monitor groundwater quality before and after
installation of the porous pavement. RCD provided the staff to assist in planning the monitoring network,
supervise installation of the wells, and collect groundwater samples. The Minnesota Department of
Health (MDH) collaborated in planning and contributed in-kind services for groundwater sample analysis.
City of Shoreview staff has surveyed monitoring well elevations and is collecting ongoing groundwater
elevation and precipitation data..
Wells were sampled for the following:
® volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
® polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
® nitrate-nitrite nitrogen, total
® bromide
® chloride
