I've reviewed the candidate applications and interviews
and strongly recommend Don Drackert. His knowledge and experience with
employment issues, laws/regulations and practices make him an excellent fit. This
is particularly relevant in view of the Commission's current project. We are close
to completing an in-depth review and revision of state-mandated Rules and
Regulations. Mr. Drackert would bring a practical understanding of policy
implementation.
Other Recommendations:
• Identify statutory requirements for local Commissions, that conflict with
current city policy or practice (e.g., affirmative action expanded certification,
temporary assignment time limitations ). Seek legislative clarification and/or
propose review of current statute.
• Ensure that new Commission Members receive an orientation based on the
Commission's current Rules and Regulations
• Consider providing the Commission with additional administrative support
• Collaborate with the Human Rights Commission on workforce diversity
objectives
• Attend Commission meetings periodically
It has been a pleasure to serve on Roseville's Police Civil Service Commission.
Thank you for your continuing support of the Commission's work.
