Notify Drivers and Operators <br />Confirm all logistics, schedules, roles, and responsibilities with affected individuals <br />after receiving approval from their management (e.g., Waste Management (WM) <br />drivers and City Public Works Department (PWD) skid-steer operator). <br />2. Secure All Equipment and Facilities <br />Secure commitments for all equipment (see Attachment A, "Sort Equipment <br />Checklist"). Note that appropriate lead-time will be needed for approval, receipt and <br />training for the operation of the: (a) City Police Department portable truck scale; and <br />(2) the OEA platform scale. Appropriate lead-time will also be need for request, <br />approval, and delivery of necessary roll-off boxes and 90-gallon carts from WM. We <br />recommend the City ask WM to deliver roll-off boxes that are at least 40-yards in <br />capacity. <br />3. Prepare City PWD Salt Shed <br />Sweep and barricade (if necessary) the City's salt shed within the PWD yard. Identify <br />designated sorting area and platform scale station area (removed from any vehicle <br />traffic). Provide electrical power extension cords and cord protectors (if needed) for <br />platform scale. <br />4. Set-Up Equipment <br />Arrange for delivery and positioning of roll-off boxes, 90-gallon carts, truck scale, and <br />platform scale. <br />5. Record Tare Weights on Carts <br />Weigh and record the weight of empty 90-gallon carts to be used for sort categories. <br />B1605 <br />
