®rtest -S urban a s C®nect®r <br />airvie at way I pr®ve ants <br />ulic Baring <br />The City Council will be considering the proposed project at a public hearing on: <br />Monday, Nday 17, 2010 <br />6:OOpm <br />Roseville City Council Chambers, <br />2660 Civic Center Drive <br />All who wish to speak regarding the proposed project will be given an opportunity to address the <br />City Council. <br />Project description: <br />The City of Roseville has been working with Falcon Heights and the University of Minnesota on <br />the preliminary plans for the Northeast Suburban Campus Connector non-motorized <br />transportation corridor.. This corridor follows Fairview Avenue, Larpenteur Avenue and Gortner <br />Avenue; starting at County Road B-2 and ending at the Intercampus Transitway. The project <br />includes the following improvements: <br />® Continuous pathways on both sides of Fairview Ave (between Co Rd B-2 and Co Rd B). <br />® Anew off- street bituminous pathway (8 feet wide) on the east side of Fairview between Co <br />Rd B and Larpenteur. <br />® Converting the existing shoulders on Fairview (between Co Rd B and Larpenteur) and <br />Larpenteur (between Fairview and Coffman) into on-street bike lanes. <br />® Anew sidewalk along the north side of Larpenteur (between Cleveland and Coffman. <br />® On Gortner (between Larpenteur and Folwell) an 8 ft wide pathway will be constructed on <br />the east side. <br />® Signal systems within the corridor will be retrofitted with pedestrian countdown timers. <br />® Street trees and benches will be installed throughout the corridor to create a more <br />pleasant atmosphere by providing shade and appeal to the non-motorized user. <br />This pathway is being funded by Transit for Livable Communities- Non-Motorized <br />Transportation Pilot Program Grant.
