<br />assisting with the planning efforts of the Bike-a-thons. <br />WHEREAS, the City has continually supported the DARE program <br />by providing a Roseville Police Officer as the DARE officer to the <br />Roseville Area elementary schools and the City wishes to expand its <br />support for the DARE program by supporting and coordinating the <br />Bike-a-thon¡ <br />WHEREAS, the transfer of responsibility to the City would <br />enable this beneficial fundraising event to continue¡ <br />NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville as follows: <br />That the DARE Bike-a-thon is a beneficial fundraiser for the <br />DARE Program. It is in the public interest that the Bike-a-thon <br />continue. The Council therefore directs that City staff assume <br />responsibility for the Bike-a-thon with the understanding that all <br />civic organizers be encouraged to continue to support the Bike-a- <br />thon by providing volunteers and other necessary support. That all <br />participants shall be registered with the Roseville Parks & <br />Recreation Department. <br />The Motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was <br />duly seconded by Member P. Johnson and upon a vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: P. Johnson, <br />Cushman, Goedeke, and Maschka and the following voted <br />against the same: None. <br />WHEREUPON, said Resolution was declared duly passed and <br />adopted this 8th day of November , 1993. <br />
