City of <br />1~~~ <br />Minnesota USA <br />City Council <br />City of Roseville <br />RESOLUTION No. 10821 <br />A Resolution of the Roseville City Council, Expressing <br />Sympathy and Condolences to Family, Friends and Colleagues of Maplewood <br />Police Sergeant Joe Bergeron, Who Was Killed in the Line of Duty <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville, and other cities and counties and the State of Minnesota <br />employ law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics and other first responder personnel who <br />provide the highest level of public service by protecting and serving the residents and visitors of our <br />state and are placed in harm's way; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Maplewood employed Sgt. Joe Bergeron as a member of the Maplewood <br />Police Department to protect and serve the citizens of Maplewood, and <br />WHEREAS, Sgt. Bergeron, while faithfully performing his public duty as a police officer, was <br />slain in his squad car while responding to a carjacking; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville, its police and fire departments, City Council, Mayor, City <br />staff and residents feel a profound sense of loss when any member of the public service family falls <br />in the line of duty. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Roseville City Council wish to <br />express both personally and on behalf of our city, our employees and our residents, our sincere and <br />deepest sympathy. and condolences to Sgt. Joe Bergeron's family, friends, co-workers, and to the <br />citizens and civic leaders of Maplewood. <br />
