We appreciate your comments and the time you took to address our concerns. We are <br />replying to you with a cc to other neighbors, as we will not be able to make the meeting <br />Monday night. We are not forwarding your a-mail, as it was directly addressed to us, but <br />will try to quote or paraphrase your comments accurately. <br />We are still convinced that subdividing this property will have real environmental and <br />economic costs for this neighborhood, and will briefly reinforce those concerns in reply to <br />your comments. <br />First, you pointed out that what is being sought is not a variance to the code. If the owner <br />were seeking a variance there would have to be a legal basis to do so. Instead, the owner is <br />seeking to subdivide one larger lot into three smaller lots that still meet the requirements <br />for lot size in Roseville. We did misunderstand that this action is not a variance. The <br />"default state" would be to allow the subdivision. On the other hand, input from the <br />neighbors was solicited, so we assume that you and the Council really did want to hear our <br />~cerns. If the permission to subdivide is automatic, and out of your hands, why were we <br />nt several mailings soliciting input? Our only conceivable input, not being experts on <br />Roseville planning law, would be to outline the damage that would be done to our neighborhood <br />if this subdivision is allowed to occur. That damage is real, and it is grounds to ask our <br />i <br />
