However, Mr. Toogood recognized the associated costs that would require <br />relocation of the signal pole and right-of--way issues at this MnDOT-controlled <br />intersection. <br />Discussion included lane change issues within signal light timing allowances. <br />Mr. Schwartz suggested that Ramsey County be enlisted by City staff to evaluate <br />the timing of the signal at that intersection to see if an additional few seconds <br />would alleviate some problems. <br />#7 Snelling and Hamline Avenues <br />Ms. Bloom noted that this intersection was controlled by the jurisdictions of <br />Ramsey County and the City of Arden Hills. <br />#8 -County Road B-2 and Lexin on (eastbound <br />Ms. Bloom noted previous discussion in seeking review of the signage at this <br />intersection for ashort-term solution; with staff requesting that Ramsey County <br />review this intersection as part of any future Highway 36 bridge discussions. <br />#9 - Snellin.~ at Lydia Avenues - RC/MnDOT <br />Ms. Bloom noted that a right turn lane would require street widening and be <br />ultimately cost-prohibitive due to relocation of the signal; and that staff would <br />keep it under consideration as part of any future projects. Ms. Bloom advised that <br />staff monitor traffic volumes as Northwestern College continues to implement <br />their development plan. <br />Acting Chair Vanderwall opined that this would not be a personal priority from <br />his perspective, based on traffic volumes compared to other intersections listed. <br />Mr. Toogood and members concurred that this intersection be put on the bottom <br />of the list of priorities. <br />#10 - Snelling Avenue and County Road C-2 <br />Ms. Bloom noted that a right turn lane would require street widening and be <br />ultimately cost-prohibitive due to relocation of the signal; and that staff would <br />keep it under consideration as part of any future projects. <br />Discussion included impacts to pedestrians with the addition of an additional lane; <br />and availability of space for a sidewalk on the south side of County Road C-2. <br />#11 - Woodhill & Lexin~,ton Avenues <br />Ms. Bloom suggested ashort-term solution by posting signs showing "lane ends" <br />on the east side of the intersection.
