MINUTES <br />OF THE ROSEVILLE CHARTER COMMISSION <br />FOR JANUARY 17, 2007 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Chair Riach at 7:00 p.m. <br />ATTENDANCE <br />The following members were in attendance: John Goedeke; Lawrence Shearon; Ronald Riach; Karen <br />Schaffer; Margaret Smith; Georgiana Sobola; Vicky Lorenz; Elwyn Sands; Dennis Harris. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 15, 2006, were approved with the following amendment: <br />After the list of members of the public who addressed the Commission, the following words are <br />inserted: "All members spoke in favor of continuation of the Commission, except Mr. Kysylycyn, who <br />spoke in favor of dissolution." As amended, the minutes passed on a voice vote. <br />DISSOLUTION OF ROSEVILLE CHARTER COMMISSION <br />Chair Riach moved as follows: <br />It is hereby resolved that pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statutes § 410.05, the <br />Roseville Charter Commission does hereby determine, that a charter is not necessary or <br />desirable for the City of Roseville, Minnesota; and therefore, the Roseville Charter <br />Commission shall be discharged. <br />The motion was seconded by Georgiana. Sobola. <br />The Public was invited to address the Commission. Douglas Root spoke in favor of dissoiution. <br />The question was called. Voting yes: Sobola, Shearon; Smith, Lorenz, Harris, Goedeke, Riach. <br />Voting no: Sands, Schaffer. <br />Chair Riach ruled that the motion passed and stated that he would advise the Chief Judge of the <br />District Court. <br />
