Driscoll
To: Neal Beets
Cc: Carolyn Curti
Subject: Charter Commission
I spoke with Mike Moriarity (266-8255) and Judy Harris (266-8275) of Ramsey County a short time ago
They confirmed that they have responsibility for the entire Charter Commission appointment/reappointment process. They
will advertise that applications are available through their office and that we will also have them here. We are welcome to
do a press release...they welcome any efforts to get the word out.
Note:
• Judy Harris will be the contact for the application/reapplication process for the Roseville Charter Commission.
Questions from the public should be directed to her...266-8275.
• Judy will send a series of press releases to the Pioneer Press, Roseville Review and Roseville Focus. She will fax a
copy to us.
• Applications will be available through their office as well as here Roseville City Hall.
• Deadline...8/1/04
• We confirmed the expiration date of all commissioners...Jack Brewer, Vicky Lorenz, AI Sands and Pat Johnson's
positions are all expiring 8/31/03. Jack, Vicky and AI are all eligible to apply. (There is a maximum of two terms.)
• Jack, Vicky and AI will be sent letters stating that they are eligible to reapply. To reapply they only have to respond
that they are interested -they are not required do complete an application form.
• Interviews are set and conducted by the Judge.. or his appointee.
• Judy stated that the Judges have a tendency to re-appoint.
• They have already received two applications: Margaret Smith and John Goedeke. '
That's the latest.
Margaret
