T CT OF UTS OF 'I'NO OFT E <br />Vr~IZ 1`TCE BOA OFT E CITY OF I2S LLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 2°d day of August, 2006, at 5:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Chair Bakeman and Members Boerigter and <br />Doherty. <br />Variance Board Member Doherty introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />ESUTIOl~ 1~T . 41 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING V ANCES TO §1005 AND §1012 OF THE <br />ROSEVILLE CITY CODE FOR CROIX OIL COIVIPANY, 3110 CLEVELAND AVENUE <br />(PF3783) <br />WHEREAS, the Croix Oil Company has requested VARIANCES to § 1005 (Business <br />Districts) and § 1012 (General Requirements) to allow for the replacement of the existing pylon <br />in anon-conforming location; and <br />WHEREAS, this property is addressed as 3110 Cleveland Avenue, and legally described <br />as: <br />LOT 1, EXCEPT THE EAST 43.0 FEET, AND THE NORTH 15.0 FEET OF LOT 2, <br />EXCEPT THE EAST 43.0 FEET, BLOCK 1, ROCAT'S ADDITION <br />PIN: 04-29-23-22-0001 <br />WHEREAS, Section 1005.01 requires a minimum 30-foot setback for structures (e.g., <br />pylon signs) from public rights-of--way; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 1012.03 requires a minimum 40-foot "visibility triangle" at <br />intersections; and <br />WHEREAS, Croix Oil Company seeks to construct a pylon sign within the required <br />"visibility triangle"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Division has concluded that "hardships" are present and <br />support can be given to deviate from the strict requirements of the Roseville City Code if the <br />conditions identified below are met; <br />
