EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of <br />Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 20th day of September, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Roe, Ihlan, Johnson, Pust and Klausing <br />and the following were absent: none. <br />Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION No. 10844 <br />Resolution Authorizing an Agreement with Ramsey County to <br />Accept Recycling Bins to Place in Public Spaces <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council and the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners support efforts to <br />expand opportunities for people to recycle away from home and wish to respond to the public's <br />interest in recycling in public spaces; and <br />WHEREAS, funding is set aside to be used for the purchase of bins to be used in public spaces including <br />parks and public gathering places, and the County Board has kicked off a three year program <br />called "Be Active! Be Green! Recycling Container Project" beginning in 2010 that will provide <br />recycling containers to municipalities to use in public spaces at no cost to the city; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Roseville agrees to enter into an Agreement with Ramsey <br />County to place recycling bins purchased by the County next to trash bins in locations that are <br />accessible to the public such as in parks, along trails or other areas that are currently serviced by <br />the City; and <br />Roseville also agrees to service and maintain the recycling bins, insure recyclables are handled <br />appropriately and delivered to a market, .and promote the use of the bins through City <br />communication methods over the next five years. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Roe, and upon a vote <br />being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Roe, Ihlan, Johnson, Pust and Klausing <br />and the following voted against the same: none. <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
