Please state your reasons for wanting to serve on the Roseville City Council. I wish to serve on the Council for several reasons. I want to help ensure that Roseville remains a vital community for conducting business and for attracting new business interests. I want to make sure that Roseville remains a vital community for attracting new residents and for raising a family. I also wish to serve in this capacity to encourage other young people to become involved in public service in their community. This opportunity would also be a tremendous learning opportunity for me and it would give me a chance to give back to the community what I have gained. Please state your view of the role of the City Council. All legislative authority in Roseville rests with the Roseville City Council. The Council is made up of the Mayor and four Council members. The responsibility of the Council is to adopt policies and ordinances for the city. The Council acts as the government of Roseville whose responsibility it is to ensure that local government is accountable to the citizens of Roseville. Other obj ectives of the Council include issues concerning economic development, environmental preservation, community housing needs, leisure opportunities, public safety and transportation. Other Comments I realize that I will probably be the youngest person applying for this position. I also realize that many of the other candidates will have more experience then I wilL My hope would be that the Council would recognize what a great opportunity this is to encourage and inspire young people to become involved in public service and the political process in general. There are so few young people involved in government as it is. This would be an opportunity for the Council to combat this problem. I also hope that my youth and my accomplishments will be favored by the Council in a way that would bring a new and positive perspective to the Council. �� 1 ' �C3 " C� �
