Manager Reviewed: <br />l� <br />DATE: Z/26101 <br />ITEM NO.: G-2 <br />Agenda Section: <br />Recognitions <br />Item Description: 2000 Human Rights Commission Essay Contest Winners <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Human Rights Commission has, for the past several years, conducted an Essay <br />Contest for seventh and eighth grade students in the Roseville area. The Human <br />Rights Commission evaluated the essays and designated the following award <br />recipients: <br />First Place David Kiris St. Rose of Lima <br />Awarded $50.00 and Certificate <br />Second Place Christopher Kastelic St. Rose of Lima <br />Awarded $35.00 and Certificate <br />Third Place Derek Bergquist Roseville Area Middle School <br />Awarded $20.00 and Certificate <br />"See First, Second and Third P/ace essays attaChed. <br />Honorable Mention <br />Danny Beacher <br />Alyssa Hamel <br />Danielle Hernandez <br />Katie McDonald <br />Dan Tran <br />Leah Zielinski <br />St. Rose of Lima <br />St. Rose of Lima <br />Roseville Area Middle School <br />St. Rose of Lima <br />Roseville Area Middle School <br />St. Rose of Lima <br />Representatives of the Commission will present the awards at the February 26 Council <br />meeting during the Recognitions section of the agenda. The first, second and third <br />place winners will read their essays aloud at the City Council meeting. In addition, <br />each honorable mention will receive a certificate of honorable mention. <br />No City Council action is necessary <br />
