REQUEST FOR COUNCII, ACTION <br />DATE: 04/09/O 1 <br />ITEM NO.: c-4 <br />Department Approval: 1�Tanager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />�� � �� <br />Item Description: No parking resolutions- 2001 PMP and Cleveland Avenue <br />Background: As part of the 200 1 Pavement Management Program, the City plans to reconstruct <br />W. Owasso Boulevard, and Josephine Road-both of which are part of the City's Municipal <br />State Aid system. Generally, the roads will be constructed to a width of 26 feet with no parking <br />allowed. Appro�mately 70% of Owasso, and 40% of Josephine Road will be constructed to a <br />width of 33 feet with parking allowed on one side. State Aid standards do not allow parking on 2 <br />lane roads narrower than 32 feet. <br />In 1997 the County resurfaced Cleveland Avenue from County Road C to County Road D. This <br />road is a County State Aid Highway, with 4 lanes of traffic. State Aid standards do not allow <br />parking on a 4-lane road narrower than 54 feet. Consequently, the County will be posting this <br />segment of road as no parking. <br />The State requires a Council resolution prohibiting parking where street width does not meet <br />State Aid standards for parking on one side. <br />Policy Objectives: In order to utilize available MSA funds, the City and County must post <br />parking in accordance with adopted State Aid standards. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Approval of the attached resolution prohibiting parking on portions of W.
