Depart ent Approval: <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCII, ACTION <br />1�Tanager Reviewed: <br />��� <br />DATE: 04/09/O 1 <br />ITEM NO.: C- 6 <br />Agenda Section: <br />Consent <br />Item Description: Approve easements on City properiy for the reconstruction of County Road <br />B, between State Farm Road and Sandhurst Drive, <br />SAP 62-625-22, MSAS 160-25 1-01 <br />Background: Ramsey County is reconstructing a portion of County Road B this summer. The <br />project includes construction of geometrics, mill and overlay, concrete repair and traffic control <br />improvements. There are two City properties that the County requires additional right-of-way <br />from for the changes in road geometrics at intersections. These are located at Lexington Avenue <br />and Victoria Street. See attached map for locations. <br />State right-of-way standards require that a11 land being used for a state aid project shall be <br />secured by easement or resolution. Since this road is operated and maintained by the County, the <br />boundaries of the right-of-way should be clearly laid out. In order to do this it is recommended <br />that easements be defined and filed on the properiy. This will designate an area for the County <br />improvements, as well as guide future improvements and utility locations. <br />The easement on the Le�ngton Park property is for the signal. A right turn lane will be added at <br />this intersection. The County has worked with the City to coordinate their plans with the <br />proposed Lexington Park improvements. <br />The easement at Victoria Street is for the signal and the addition of a right turn lane. <br />For reconstruction projects within the City of Roseville, Ramsey County requires the City to <br />acquire all easements. These easements are between the properiy owner and the City of <br />Roseville. This is the reason the easements before you for approval are between the City of <br />Roseville and the City of Roseville. <br />Staff recommendation: Approve roadway easements (15- 1 1-83 & 14-2 1-0 1) for County Road B <br />reconstruction to meet State Aid requirements. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Approve roadway easements 15- 1 1-83 & 14-2 1-0 1 for County Road B reconstruction. <br />Prepared by: Debra Bloom <br />
