�� � Request for Council Action Date: 04-23-0 1 Item Number: c-1 Departm�nt Appr va� M a n a g e g e Agenda Section Consent Item Description: Facilities Lease Agreement Renewal with the St. Paul Fire Department Back�round: The Roseville Fire Department does not own or operate a fire training center. Instead, we lease the training facilities of the St. Paul and Minneapolis Fire Departments. It would be cost prohibitive for the City of Roseville to construct it's own fire training center. This collaborative agreement is a cost effective way to provide firefighter training. Thus, we are seeking to renew our lease agreement, in whereas, the Roseville Fire Department would lease time at the St. Paul Fire Training Center. The Roseville Fire Department will continue to utilize the Minneapolis Fire Department training center as well, as both facilities have amenities that are beneficial to training our firefighters. Policy Implications: This agreement is consistent with the City's Collaboration and Cooperation Policy. Financial: lease rates are $150 per hour, with an additional cost of $50 per hour when St. Paul Fire Department personnel are required to be present. Funding would come from the fire department training budget. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommendation is for council to approve the renewal of the Facilities lease Agreement with the City of St. Paul Fire Department. Council Action Requested: Motion to approve the renewal of the Facilities lease Agreement between the City of Roseville Fire Department and the City of St. Paul Fire Department for the use of their Fire Training Facility.
