■ <br />May 18, 2001 <br />POPPY <br />Day in Roseville <br />Whereas: The American Legion Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary have adopted the Poppy as their <br />commemorative symbol; and <br />Whereas: The memorial Poppy, assembled by disabled veterans, pays respectful <br />tribute to those killed in war, and also benefits living veterans and their <br />families; and <br />Whereas: Public donations for Poppies fund rehabilitation programs within each <br />local community that benefit veterans and their families; <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council of the City of Roseville does <br />hereby proclaim May 18, 2001 to be Poppy Day in the City of Roseville. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br />Roseville to be affixed this 7th day of May, 2001. <br />John Kysylyczyn, Mayor <br />SEAL <br />
