EXTRACT OF MIl�IUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCII, OF THE CITY OF ROSEVII,LE <br />Pursuant to due ca11 and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall on Monday, the <br />14�' day of May, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />CITY OF ROSEVII,LE <br />COUNTY OF HENNEPIN <br />STATE OF 1VIINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCII, FOR THE ACQUISITION AND OPERATION OF <br />RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES IN CONJ[TNCI'ION WITH THE METROPOLITAN <br />COUNCIL'S FAI�TILY AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAI�T AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR AND CITY ADNIINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE COOPERATION <br />AGREEI�TENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY. <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is authorized by Minnesota Statutes section 473.195 to <br />exercise the functions, rights, duties, privileges, immunities and limitations as are provided for <br />housing and redevelopment authorities created for municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with the implementation of its Family Affordable Housing Program <br />("FAHP"), the Metropolitan Council proposes to acquire and administer residential properties <br />("FAHP Units") within the boundaries of the City, up to thiriy percent of which units will be made <br />a�ailable to eligible residents of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes section 473.195, subdivision 1 requires the Metropolitan Council <br />to obtain the approval of the governing body of the City before the Metropolitan Council may <br />implement its proposed housing initiative within the boundaries of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, federal law requires the Metropolitan Council to enter into a Cooperation Agreement <br />with the City in connection with the proposed acquisition and operation of the FAHP Units. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that pursuant to Minnesota <br />Statutes section 473.195 the City Council gives its prior approval to the Metropolitan Council's <br />proposal to acquire and administer up to fifteen (15) FAHP Units within the boundaries of the City; <br />and <br />BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council that the Mayor and the City Administrator are <br />authorized to execute the Cooperation Agreement on behalf of the City. <br />
