REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 06/1 1101 <br />Item Number: C-4 <br />Department Approval: 1�'Ianager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />�� �� Consent <br />ITE1�'I DESCRIPTION <br />St. Rose of Lima Church One Day Gambling License <br />BACKGROUND <br />St. Rose of Lima Church has applied for an Exemption from Lawful Gambling Licensing <br />Requirements to conduct lawful gambling activities on September 16, 2001 at St. Rose School <br />and grounds located at 2048 Hamltne Ave North. <br />The Minnesota Charitable Gambling Regulations allow any nonprofit organization, which <br />conducts lawful gambling for less than five (5) days per year, and total prizes do not exceed <br />$50,000.00 in value, to be exempt from the licensing requirements if the city approves. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion approving St. Rose of Lima Church request to conduct a raffle on September 16, 2001, at <br />St. Rose School and grounds located at 2048 Hamline Ave North. <br />
