Your inquiry is very timely. On Monday <br />Night, at the Council Work Session, staff recommended that the City do an <br />update of our 1991 solid waste and recycling report. The Council agreed for <br />some of the very reasons you outlined. <br />On June 11, the Council will take formal action to authorize staff to <br />advertise for Citzens to serve on a solid waste and reycling advisory <br />committee with the mission to make recommendations for updating our current <br />policies and ordinances. <br />We will keep your name on file and would hope that one of you might be <br />interested in serving on the Committee. <br />Thanks again for your note and we look forward to perhaps working you and <br />othe citizens in the coming weeks. <br />Sincerely <br />Edward L. I was shocked to find the cost <br />of garbage collection in Roseville Double what I paid in <br />Blaine for the same type of service. Blaine has a city wide <br />garbage collection program. I was wondering if Roseville <br />has ever considered implementing such a program. One <br />garbage hauler (BFI) collects waste from all the residential <br />properties. The cost to residents of Blaine is half of what <br />of what we pay in Roseville. Every few years Blaine puts <br />out bids for solid waste collection, assuring good rate for <br />residents. They also have a program in place for weekly <br />recycling that does not require people to sort their <br />recyclables_ Throw it in the hopper and place it at the <br />curb alongside your garbage can each week. Each week just <br />one garbage truck and one recycling truck traveled my <br />street. In Roseville every day I see several trucks coming <br />1 of2 7�10!O1 ���� PM <br />
