The licenses to be renewed <br />include twenty-three (23) On Sale (maximum 30 allowed by state statute), six (6) Off Sale <br />(maximum of 10 allowed by City ordinance), four (4) Club and nine (9) Wine (City ordinance or <br />state statute do not limit the number of the last two types of licenses). A public hearing needs to be <br />established for the November 5, 2001 council meeting for the consideration of the renewal of these <br />licenses. <br />Financial Implications <br />The revenue that is generated from the license fees collected is used to offset the cost of police <br />compliance checks, background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license <br />administration. <br />Council Action <br />Motion establishing a public hearing on Monday, November 5,200 1 for the renewal of the following <br />liquor licenses for calendar year 2002. <br />
