September 15, 2001
To: Traffic Safety Committee
Chief Paul Wood
Duane Schwarfz
From: Residents of Sextant Ave. and Sheldon Street
We would like to request "No Parking During School Hours" signs be
instdlled on:
■ Sextant Ave. between Hamline and Holton
Sheldon Street between Sextant and Brooks
The cars thafi park on our streets are creafiing several probiems for us.
1. There are more and more young children in this neighborhood
and we have a concern for their safety due to the careless
driving of the students. They drive too fast down our streets and
have even been seen driving backwards.
2. When the students park too close to mailboxes, we do not get
mail delivery.
3. The crowded conditions that are created by so many cars
interfere with trash services.
4. The students throw trash into our yards, driveways and streets.
5. The students dre blocking the street to other drivers while they sit
and have conversations.
6. There is excessive noise from their stereos being too loud and
repeated honking back and forfh to each other.
7. The students are parking too close to stop signs and intersections,
thus making driving conditions quite unsafe.
Attached is a list of residents affected by the current situation and
supporfing this request.

 " 33-sy93 -- .
  S - 5'o s - v.
