EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 26th day of November 2001, at 6:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION DENYING A 2-1/2 FOOT-TALL VARIANCE TO SECTION 1012.02B2 <br />OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />1897 SHADY BEACH AVENUE (PF 3347). <br />WHEREAS, Brad Hoff has requested a 2-1/2 foot variance to Section 1012.02B2 of the <br />Roseville City Code to allow a fence up to 6-1 /2 feet in height in his front yard; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mr. Hoff's property is located at 1897 Shady Beach Avenue, legally <br />described as: <br />Lot 23, Block 1, Shady Beach, Ramsey County, Minnesota (PIN: #132923410018). <br />WHEREAS, Section 1012.02B2 (Certain Structures Not Considered Encroachments) <br />limits fences in front yards (that area lying from the front of the principal structure to the front <br />property line) to a maximum height of four-feet; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Hoff desires to have a fence up to 6-1/2 feet in height in the front yard <br />of his premises. <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding the <br />variance request by Mr. Hoff and voted (4-1) to recommend denial of the request based on the <br />following findings: <br />A. The property can be put to reasonable use under the official controls of the City. <br />A 4-foot tall fence can provide the privacy desired by the applicant, without <br />having a profound impact on the neighborhood. Landscape screening can be <br />installed to augment the 4-foot tall fence. <br />
